Wayne has been an indigenous rights activist since the 1970s with the Aboriginal Tent Embassy. He trained as an ethnographic film maker at the AIATSIS in Canberra in the early 1980s and as a radio broadcaster with the ABC. Wayne has worked in government, private enterprise, and community organisations in media, community development, traditional cultural activity and Aboriginal health. He is also a recording artist and singer/songwriter as well as a national and international performance artist.
