Awerangi is responsible for leading urban indigenous community organisation,Te Whānau o Waipareira's 25 year intergenerational strategy that supports successful outcomes for Māori families. She leads 5 teams that implement this generational strategy - indigenous research, strategy & innovation, change & transformation, brand & design and outcomes management. Awerangi's career spans across the public, private and Māori sectors, including the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet - implementation of health reforms across NZ & as Associate Director of KPMG, leading KPMG New Zealand national Māori consulting team. She is a 2016 NZ Woman of Influence of the Year finalist.
