Cara Kirkwood

Indigenous Program Coordinator ,
National Gallery of Australia

Cara is a Mandandanji, Bidjara and Mithaka woman from Queensland. With over twelve years in the community sector, Cara has been able to apply her experience of arts and leadership programs to her current role as Indigenous Program Coordinator at the National Gallery of Australia. 

While managing the suite of Indigenous Leadership programs offered at the Gallery, with the generous support of Wesfarmers Arts, she is also undertaking a Bachelor of Art History and Curatorship at the Australian National University. 

Cara is passionate about Indigenous cross-cultural learning and an advocate of the ethical purchase of Indigenous art.
